hey!

my brother did ballet when he was a wee fella. actually, i think he was 10 or more. he quit eventually, but he wouldn't be embarrassed that i just posted that. cuz he's a real man. i miss him lots.

oh, and

BAM

BAM

BAM

what's that you say? why, yes! we did put shiny, faux-rock-patterned, purple-gray-brown tile in our kitchen. and that is a mustard stripe running around the edges. how could that possibly be a bad thing? just wait til you see how i deface the cabinets.

the toilet really flushes, even though it's apparently been housed in an "80s southwestern grandmother" set. placing unrelated donated tiles--thank you, handful of generous people with leftover tiles!--is tricksy for the colorblind (ah, i love being able to pull that one out when i need it). i may or may not have filmed the first swish, along with the first turning on of the kitchen faucet and shower thing. i'm telling you--nick is a total magician.

also, those gaping jaws of cement in the bathroom will soon be filled with obviously stunning mosaics by yours truly. nick decided that would be a good idea. we shall see.

one more evidence of his wizard powers:

doors, people! doors!

i, too, am in love. so much love. that looks amazing!!!! you guys are so sexy. also every time i think about seeing you again i get really excited.

(and methinks you lied to us when you said we weren't noisy neighbors. the people below us have complained multiple times and i now live in a constant state of anxiety mixed with annoyance. granted, most of it is due to a certain 30 pound child who sounds like he weighs 300 lbs walking around. however...i hate it. i'm never living upstairs again.

and we want you guys back. :) but your thai adventures are pretty nifty, so i guess you can stay.)

ok so paul was in a "leaping class" much more manly than just straight ballet and he only went about 5 times. just to be historically accurate!
the house looks like a REAL house!
