oh my goodness!

i just realized that i forgot to share one of the minute details of our lives with the internet! i must remedy the situation at once!

after weeks of 90-degree weather during what was supposedly the transition from the rainy season to the "cold" season, we had finally decided that everyone was fibbing to us, and that it never gets below 85 degrees in this country. then, all of a sudden, we woke up on halloween morning to 60-degree chilliness. nick said he felt like he was camping, due to the mosquito net, the lack of sheets, and the brisk breeze. add to that ensemble the fact that, at any given moment, someone is burning a giant pile of tree branches and weeds, and voila! we might as well have been in zions.

PLUS i came downstairs this morning to be greeted by these:

and the sunlight coming through the window was cold-looking, as evidenced in this view of the backyard and laundry, featuring my socks on the table, which i removed in order to do said laundry--NOT fun when it's not 90 degrees outside! oh my!

the only thing i was bummed about when moving to thailand, weather-wise, was the loss of fall. i praised the lack of winter to the skies, but fall was a bit of a bummer to lose. turns out there was no need. fall has, uhhh, fallen in chiang mai, and it's lovely.

time to buy another sweatshirt so that the specimen i jacked from cousin jordy can take a break. four days in a row is starting to sick out แม่, i suspect.

oh, and happy voting, everyone.

I don't know how you live without the most important season of the year. Fall is so darn lovely I know you know this! But I guess it's lovely there, too...after all, if nobody else notices leaves dropping on any given day and, you may as well take up that responsibility.

I love you, leaf watcher.

Not only do I love the season Autumn, but I just love the word Autumn. That silent 'n' at the end is amazing.
