the projects

i forgot i said i'd put up pictures of what's been occupying nick lately (only fair after an entire post about food, i s'pose). so voila. welcome to the table and desk.

back story: before we left for the states, nick bought a bunch of steel to make a bed frame for us. then we ditched that idea and just kipped on the floor like normal people. then the steel sat in พ่อ's workshop and rusted for over 5 months. then, as evidenced, we came back. after a few days of watching us from afar as we ate our meals on the floor of our porchkitchen (again, like normal people), i guess พ่อ went a little crazy and decided to put that rusty steel to use.

and now we have a tiny table and a giant desk that nick got to paint blue like our windows. behold. but remember that the desk is not done, and we don't have it all together what with the many projects going on at the moment to beautify and convenientify our abode, so that's why it looks like we're living in squalor. nick wants to make sure everyone knows that. THE DESK IS NOT DONE. i figured you'd get that, seeing as there are no drawers in the drawer holes. but there we go.

speaking of windows, the bugs make us crazy now. didn't bother us for a year, and now neither of us can stand them for one more second. so we're putting in screens that will make our house a little darker and uglier and way more bug-free. correction: nick's putting in screens. after he makes them, which he's doing right this second.

and he can do that because he spent two days treating our frames and doors with bug death and teak oil. see how pretty?

bonus glimpse of the fridge, too. we's gots all kinds of excitement goin' on over here! he's my little worker bee, and i think i will keep him.

final project: project zerda. here he is at 18 weeks. i'll try to do these weekly for the parentals and my really cute grandpa who keeps emailing asking for them. mondays are my weekly birthdays, so i'll try to keep the pictures in that vicinity.

goals: do my hair, maybe stop wearing that skirt 3 times a week (debatable), and figure out how not to look like an idiot in these pictures. nick is fired--point at him??? i will figure this out. suggestions welcome.
