first: tanks, guys. i'm very shy (read: vain. am i right?) with my music, so thank you for not scorning me. nick and i have some plans--gasp!--to develop the Music a little more seriously this year, and enthusiasm from the internet is good motivation not to do what i always do and ignore those plans for "just one more year..." but seriously, is my husband not the sweetest? he is.
second: run graduated from college last year, but in thailand, the ceremony often takes place six months to a year after the final test. why? because the princess gives out the diplomas. not at every single college, mind you... but almost. crazy talk.
so we had a big muu gatha--thai barbecue, baby--party last night in celebration of her diploma receival. i love muu gatha (gatha is definitely going to lead you astray in the pronunciation world, here, but i don't know how to write a glottal stop, and that's just the beginning of the problems), and i love seeing people get together here.
a four-year-old "cousin" dragged me around for much of the night, explaining the dogs' anatomy, showing me that porcelain figurines don't float (oops), begging for gum, and whispering english words like "cow" and "tree" in my ear. i wasn't complaining.
nick got home quite late, but he was enthusiastically received by the ring of drunken uncles crouching around the ceramic grill. his insistence that he call it a night after only 3 glasses of... orange fanta... were less enthusiastically received, but i doubt anyone lost sleep over the disappointment.
and all the awesome pictures from the night are on him's camera... which is currently in his luggage on a bus back to bangkok. we always say we'll get the pictures. every time. so sorry, guys. next time.
but guess what? i bet if you go here in about 18 hours, you'll still get to see quite a few. check out their SICK graduation robes. america needs a serious education on how to make robes.
those are my thoughts. has anyone been listening to this lately? ahhhhhhhhh.
sorry for the utter lack of a point today. but seriously, go to that link. bask.

Jonsi is amazing. do you know sigur ros (jonsi is the singer.)
yes, we are so obsessed. It was supposed to be my anniversary present for Al to go to see jonsi in sydney but it didn't end up working out :-(. At least we can still enjoy earbud serenades despite!
Your hair is so long in the previous post!
